Retire Early Lifestyle is a content based website that appeals to a different kind of person - the person who prizes their independence, values their time, and who doesn't want to mindlessly follow the crowd.

Probably six years back, after another ten day vacation in the tropics, I was fighting the malaise of being back at work, at my own company, and dreading the day to day slog I’d built up to escape the corporate rat race. I realized that I was just running alongside the rats, nominally outside their cage, yet keeping the strangled pace despite not wearing someone else’s tie. I stumbled onto your site. Spent far too many hours reading. Bought your e-book. Researched. Mapped a plan, and a year or so later I pounced when my wife was offered early retirement. Neither my wife nor I could ever have predicted our current situation, but we agree it is amazing, especially compared to the alternative. Without your inspiration, we might still be slogging at “real” jobs in Pennsylvania. - Island life, the smaller house, the significant financial constraints (compared to our former life), just feels more real every day. We wake up excited by the possibilities…who will call? Who will need a photographer for a turtle rescue? What starved pup needs a dog whisperer’s humane touch to reorient within the rescue center and be adopted into the good life beyond? Or will no-one call and will we have time for a long hike up the mountain? Again, with sincere gratitude, thank you both. - Russ

Market Cap Concentration.

Real Investment Report

The market crack on Friday resulted from a defensive move as geopolitical stress, trade rhetoric, and political dysfunction triggered a sharp reversal in sentiment. After trading relatively flat most of the week, the S&P 500 fell 2.7% on Friday, wiping out earlier gains and ending the week in the red.

How to Fail at Early Retirement
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli

We believe every situation offers learning opportunities, and calling that experience a failure just doesn’t jibe with who we are. In our lives, we want to move forward with the knowledge and wisdom we’ve gained - not benchmark it emotionally by calling it a failure.
